If you know that you are going to be renting a scissor lift in the near future and if you want to be able to operate it yourself, then you can undergo the necessary training. There are short classes that will allow you to earn your certification pretty quickly, and you can continue to use it in the future, such as if you rent a scissor lift again at some point. In many cases, this is worth it. Otherwise, you can ask that the rental company send out a licensed operator to assist.
